It's Been Awhile..

WOE!!  How time flies when you're busy!  Didn't realize that I haven't blogged in over a month.  TOTALLY BITCHY.  Let me give you all some updates...

As I mentioned in my LAST blog, I turned 23 last month.  OLD BALLS.  Got a hotel with the ladies downtown Minneapolis, hit up Sneaky Pete's, was a totally mess... THE USUAL.  No biggie.  Best birthday yet!  But no worries, my mom goes and one-up's my 23rd bday (FYI: I was born on her bday)... "That's awesome you had a great birthday.  Your dad proposed to me on my 23rd..."  THANKS MOM.  Rub it in that I'm single!  Neat...

In addition, I broke my new laptop that I got in August.  Stupid keyboard, hardware problem.  Couldn't have happened at a better time.. Two weeks before finals.  JUST SWELL.  Finally got it back last week.  AFTER finals.  Typical.

Speaking of school, two things...
First: SHOUT OUT TO THE UMD BULLDOGS FOOTBALL TEAM!!  So proud of you boys.  2 time National Champs!  Way to go guys.
Second: I GRADUATED!!  I officially have a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing, with a minor in Political Science.  BALLER!!!  Let me know if you can hook me up with a job.. ;)

Oh, and another highlight: HO HO HO PARTY BUS/Snowed In Weekend at the SexPad!!  Shout outs to Ashley, Bri, and Myers for coordinating the funnest party bus experience ever.  PHENOMENAL.  Then the next day, I attempted to go back to Duluth but it was snow emergency in Minneapolis.  Just an epic day.  HOT TUB TIME MACHINE with a 1.75 of Ronnie and a liter of Cola.  JUST EPIC.

New DROID Case!

Finally the new case for my DROID has come!  THANK YOU US POSTAL SERVICE, YOU MADE MY WEEK SO MUCH BETTER!! But seriously, I needed this case.  For those who didn't know, I recently broke my third DROID.  You heard me, THIRD DROID.  My fourth one has been treating me right so far, yet this case is probably the best thing that has ever happened to it...

FIRST let me just say, the cases provided by Verizon to purchase are super janky.  I had a plastic case for number two and three that didn't do ANYTHING for my phone.

When DROID number two fell out of my bag and sat in a puddle for over six hours, the CASE was the only thing I found in my purse...  When DROID number three seemed to slip out of my butterfingers, miss my pocket, and hit the tile floors, the CASE FELL OFF leaving the screen to go black. SERIOUSLY!  JANKY!

ME: New hair, new case!  CRAZY!!

This is why I was more than amp'd to receive my new phone case from Amzer.  It's a silicone jelly case, that protects my phone from have physical harm.  EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!  You can click the link to find out more about Amzer and  my new cover!

Basically love this company.  Got my package in less than a whole business week without any rush delivery.  AND (here's the best part) it was relatively inexpensive in comparison to the Verizon cover!  I totally recommend this case to other DROID users.  This customer is SATISFIED and is now creating a BUZZ for the product.

I've been gettin' pretty cultured in the past year. Most are in MinneSNOWta, but let's start it off in a warmer climate...

PCB: Panama City Beach.  Spring Break 2010 kicked my ass! 24-hour one way road trip to Florida.  Wildest time of my life.  Would change it for the world.  Well... maybe the whole my-car-got-totaled-when-I-wasn't-even-in-in and we-had-to-take-a-rental-back-to-Minnesota part.. But that's just a side note tho..

Downtown MPLS: Target Field. I LOVE THE TWINS!  I was more than excited to get to experience the second Twins preseason game played there.  Thanks Papa, you da bestttttt.  Just one of many games I went to this '10 season.  

How 'bout a beer?

D-TOWN: Grandma's Marathon Week.  EPIC.  Always is.  Woke up drunk at 6am from drinking whiskey Friday night.  Drank beers while half and full marathoners ran by (like my cousins).  My activity: J-Wallin' on tables and givin' out beer bongs.  Canal Park for the beer tents at night.  Taking in Lake Superior.  What a great weekend.

Oh the irony...

MPLS: Sculpture Garden.  The ORIGINAL day of "getting cultured."  Out with my girls K. Choh & DZ.  Doin' a catch-up on our lives.  Them on their big girl jobs, me on my internship.  GOOD TIMES, GREAT OLDIES.  This was on of many in a large installation at the Garden.  LAUGHED MY ASS OFF at how ironic it was for many of us... ;)

STP: Excel Energy Center presents LADY GAGA's MONSTERS BALL.  Now, I have been to a good amount of concerts, primarily rap, punk, and boy band concerts, but wow... LADY GAGA IS AN ENTERTAINER!!  I felt like I was in an elaborate, interactive music video that just kept going, and going, and going... Like an Energizer Bunny!  For real though...  BEST.CONCERT.EVER.

MPLS: The Orpheum shows WICKED.  For those of you who don't know, I LOVE MUSICALS!  Love them dearly.  It started when I was in kindergarten, and I was watching GREASE at my cousins' house, I think... Couldn't stop me from the singin' & the dancin'.  When I heard "Defying Gravity" on Glee last season, I had to figure out where the song came from.  When I realized it was from this musical, and that the musical was based on a novel, I HAD to read the novel before I saw the musical!  Everything made sense!  AMAZING time with the family.  Would love to see it again, but with Idina Menzel as Elphaba and the rest of the original cast.  :)

MPLS: Orchestra Hall.  Just this last Saturday my sister and I went to a symphony there.  All the pieces had a Bach influence... Or something like that.  Haha.  Apparently you're not supposed to take pictures there though... My sister and I were taking some candid FB profile pic sesh, and an usher was NOT IMPRESSED needless to say.  But hey, gotta love the Minnesota Orchestra!  Click the link to find out more about them!

What IS Belvedere? DAYLIGHT SAVINGS ROCKS

I just wanna say Sloppy Superior Saturday must become a weekly ritual for UMDers.  Did a bar crawl with the boys...  Hit up a few gems. And the best part was that Wisconsin DOES the whole daylight savings at 2am the clocks go back to 1am, keeping the bars open that one extra hour.  Umm...

MOST HILARIOUS NIGHT OF MY LIFE! 

Let me give you a run-down of how amazing my night was:

• Get to Roper's a lil' past midnight.  Live country band (for those of you who know me would know that I highly dislike country, but I LOVE ROPER'S), but they play two songs then take a break.  Suddenly I find myself doin' the "Cupid Shuffle" and shakin' my booty to Ke$ha.  Beers weren't cuttin' it.  Had to leave.
• Head over to Lord Stanley's.  We decide it's too late to drink beer, let's switch to hard liquor and shots.  So Benny goes to the bartender, who btw was barely 18, and says, "I'll have a Belvedere on the rocks."  NEVER have I ever seen a person look so confused! "Um... What's  Belvedere?"  They don't have it.  Grey Goose?  No go.  "What's the most expensive vodka you have?" "Stoli."  OMG... C'MON SUPERIOR!  This is 2010.  Live in the now.  From that point on, we were on a mission: To Find Belvedere.  Anywho, my boys order a Stoli on the rocks, and the chick takes out two 16 oz beer glasses, fills them half up with ice, then pours it full of vodka.  Price tag for one of these drinks: $3.50.  LESS THAN MY JAG BOMB.  Started gettin' squirrely from there on...  Pretty sure someone got stabbed at Lucky's across the street.  I mean from inside Stanley's, we saw 4 cop cars, a fire truck, and an ambulance.  That was our exit cue for the next bar.
• The Palace Bar looked like a fine establishment to go into.  They had Jameson stocked.  I was feelin' it.  But once again, no Belvedere.  Just a few-years-old bottle of Grey Goose.  The guys had to settle.  By now it was 1:45am (but really it WAS 2:45am! Yayyyyy daylight savings time!), so we had to make a dash to one final bar.
• FINAL DESTINATION: Frankie's.  One word: KARAOKE.  I do a mean "Just A Friend" by Biz Markie, if I must say.  Drink specials: Dollar shots of Hot 100.  NO THANKS fellas.  The guys thought that was a good way to end the night.

All in all, Operation Find Belvedere In Superior, Wisconsin, was an epic fail. But it Sloppy Superior Saturday was a GREAT SUCCESS.  I suggest that every UMD student have a SSS experience in the future.  Total cost of the night: $20.  Probably because the guys found it neccessary to buy the rest of my drinks after Stanley's, and we didn't have to call a taxi.

Still, what a night...

HEY ALL!

Sorry I haven't blogged lately.  Been runnin' hott lately, with a strong Thursday to Sunday bender.  Had to have a few days recovery.  Now that I do not have FOUR LOKO in my system, I can get back on the blogging horse again.  I know how much you all have missed my rants, advice, trend spotting, and sports insight.  I'll try to make it up to everyone the rest of the week.  Deal, or no deal?

So I never told everyone, I was LADY GAGA for Halloween! 

You're probably thinking, "How original MoJo," but seriously, my costume was!  GaGa in Telephone.  Soda pop cans in my hair, the Haus of GaGa leather jacket, the colored in eyebrows, basically running around naked... C'MON!  I looked AMAZING.

My favorite part of the night was when I ran into a friend from one of my many marketing classes' groups, and he goes, "What are you supposed to be? Oh wait, I got it... CHER!"  UMMMMM SERIOUSLY?!!!  How do you get Cher out of this outfit?  I have no idea.  What do you think?  Here's a few pics from Saturday at Grandma's Sports Garden in Duluth, MN:

Bad Case of the Mondays... RANTS.

Sorry readers!  I went home for a LONG weekend back in the great Twins Cities.  Let me just say, that R&R was definitely needed. School's been intense, Duluth is cold and boring, and most importantly...
I missed my family (yeah, I'm a big softy).

But geez! I am totally having a bad case of the Mondays today.  Woke up at 6am & was in transit back to Duluth by 7. BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE. Direct hit of morning rush hour traffic on 694 East.  Just a killer.  Once I got on 35W to 35 North, it was smooth sailing.  Loved it!

Now let me get a few rants of my chest. 
Real quick...

First & foremost: I HIGHLY DISLIKE UPTOWN, MINNEAPOLIS, BAR SCENE.
Seriously though!  I feel like for every 5 times I go there for a night for debauchery, maybe 1 or 2 of my experiences there have been fun.  ONE would totally be Miss K.Choh's 22 b-day bash, when we rocked Stella's world, and made the rooftop patio at Drink our bitch!  Otherwise, I personally think Cowboy Slims is probably the WORST bar in the area, the Cafeteria is only cool if you can get on the patio, Chino Latino's happy hour is the only affordable thing on its menu, Williams is okay, and Bar Abilene has not impressed me.  If you disagree, PLEASE inform me of a quality location to go in Uptown, at what time and what day of the week.  THANKS.

You know how hard I was chirpin' at my Packers' fan friends?!  A LOT.  Now I feel like a jackass.  Brett, my silver fox... Thanks for admitting to the phone calls.  But seriously, sexting is way more badass.  Wish you would have fessed up to that mess... ANYWHO, that is besides the point.  Those three interceptions hurt our flow  at Lambeau last night.  I mean, there's only so much that big RANDY Moss can do for our team..
And Percy Harvin. Which BTW, I am OLDER than Percy!  He's a '88 baby, I'm '87!  WEIRD...

Everyone can agree here, fake UGGS are FUGLY!  And if you don't know what I mean by that, I mean they are f-in UGLY! Save up the $120 to $180 (based on the Classic Boots on the UGG Australia), and buy a pair.  Real ones last longer.  They are made with real sheepskin & swede to insure comfort & warmth.  They have a WARRANTY.  You screw them up within a year, get new ones on them, essentially.  Get over being a cheap ass, ditch the FUGGS, and git da UGGS!

Oh my, I was listening to my iPod Mini on shuffle this morning while I was getting ready for class, and this lil' gem of a song came on.

THEY STILL ROCK MY WORLD.  This 2000 parody boy band group was hilarious with funny, catchy tunes.  "Say It, Don't Spray It" has taught me a great life lesson: "I want the news, not the weather."  

This song also has a valid point... the hardest part of breaking up is NOT feeling bad about hurting the other person's feelings, or that you're going to be sad, or whatever... it's definitely GETTING BACK YOUR STUFF!  I can speak from experience.  He still has two pairs of sweatpants and a pair of basketball shorts.  You know who you are, please return.  Haha.

Hair Trend: Dark Roots

Let me just say, I AM A TREND SETTER!
Why do you ask?  Because I've been sportin' the dark, over-grown roots now for a solid 8 months.  Usually I frown upon this for for many reasons:

1. I think it looks trashy.
2. Why would anyone want to dye there hair a color that isn't close to his/her natural color?  Be happy with what you are born with. And not everyone should try to be blonde... Because honestly, some people cannot pull it off.

3. Um how broke are you that you cannot afford to re-dye your air?  A kit runs from about $10 to $25.  A pro will cost about $120 (I WOULD KNOW).

But hey, me and my homegirls Ashley Olson and Taylor Momsen ROCK the over-grown roots.  Basically bottle blondes are IN.  And all you brunettes are SUCKAZZZZZZZ. 

JUST SAYIN'...

Okay, okay. Usually, I wouldn't be caught dead like this.  But I'mma broke college student, okay!  And the last time I had my hair dyed, my sister did a box-dye cap kit.  Looked pretty ridic, because I still had my kickass bangs, and they were NOT havin' this whole idea of pulling through the holes of the cap.  Maybe one of these days I'll cough up the money to git my hurr did.  MAYBE.

Anywho... This weeks been a pretty rough one.  Two exams, probably didn't ace either of 'em.  Twins lost TWICE at home.  Stupid Yankees.  Next week isn't looking any better.  Have an exam on Monday, as well as a group assignment that is weighted the same as a exam in a different class.  My individual AND my group case projects due on Tuesday, with the group presentation.  And some Naked Indians ultimate frisbee on Monday, volleyball on Wednesday, and softball on Thursday.  Basically have another long week ahead of me.

Oh the rants.  But on a lighter note...

MY SISTER IS COMING TO DULUTH TODAY!!

I must say, I am EXSTATIC over the news of the Minnesota Vikings trading a 3rd round draft pick to the New England Patriots for the one and only RANDY MOSS. Yeah, I watch sports.  WEIRD right, because I'm a girl.  But I have a strong passion for Minnesota sports. I read the New York Times article about the trade. Hopefully this new addition to the team will help the Silver Fox Farve make it rain on the field.  I mean c'mon, 1-2 record is killin' us.  We need a change in our lineup.  MOSS IS WHAT WE NEED!!

Sorry I'm Not Sorry... Been Sick.

Haven't been bloggin' every day.  My B.  Caught a wicked sinus infection.  I'm on antibiotics, no worries!  Should be 100% in ten days.  WOOT WOOT!!


As my amazing former roommate DZ has said, "October: thank u for continuing the saga in 2010 as being the month of horrible luck."
Just a preface... last year, when I used to live with 5 beautiful, intelligent, party animals (aka "the Big 6"), October tainted each of our lives in 3s.  People got sick.  People had broken cars.  People got broke up with.  TERRIBLE THINGS HAPPENED.  A cursed stolen camera might have started it off... Who knows!





BUT ANYWHO!  
I'll try to keep up to standard, and get a blog post in each day.  Alright?! ;)

What do you do?  I only ponder this question, because I personally like to switch it up.  And I ALWAYS receive a negative reaction from the people who have to experience my choice of "under" rolling.  Of course these people are girls, because guys don't use toilet paper... THEY ARE GROSS LIKE THAT!  Which leads to a rant...

RANT OF THE DAY: Assignment Extensions

So RIDDLE ME THIS, UMD students...

If a professor OFFERS to give you an extension on, say a take-home exam, wouldn't you see it in the class' best interests to take the professor up on this offer?  It give you and your fellow classmates some extra time to better develop your arguments and responses to the questions at hand.  RIGHT?!!

Well, tell me this... if over half (more than 50%) of the class says, "Yes please, give us an extension,"  shouldn't the class get the extension on the assignment at hand?  THIS DID NOT HAPPEN.  One student was like, "NO WAY, I'm almost done with it." Hey, good for you.  I haven't even started!  I'm a busy lil' lady.  With the blogging, the tweeting, the Facebook-ing, working at my job, doin' Kanye's New Workout Plan... That whole deal.   Whatev.. Lame Sauce, for sure.  So THAT is my rant for today.
